Steps Families Can Take to Living Green

I consider myself not a huge environmentalist, but I am proud to say I saved my allowance Greenpeace to participate in the 80. As an adult, I now realize the importance of having an awareness of our impact on the earth and share with our children. We may not be able to save our planet from all the black clouds, but it is important to be responsible and respectful of the earth on a daily basis.

There are simple steps we can all help to live a more green friendly pragmatically. We did not radically change our lives and with few changes, nothing seems to be different (except for land fills as complete, our energy and water bills are not as high, and our knowledge we are doing our part in life and an environmentally conscious).

The following is a list of simple steps that families can take to live green. This is not a complete list, but a starting point. The important issue is that parents and caregivers to discuss and implement these steps. When parents teach children to live green at an early age, children will naturally respect the land.

I know there are many more things we can do, then I suggest you send us your best stuff too! Thank you for the Earth you and us too!

Steps to Living Green:

1. Turn off the lights and TV when not in the room. Better yet, turn off the TV all together and take a book!

2. Get energy efficient appliances. This will help save on electricity bills and help the environment!

3. Change all your old bulbs with new fluorescent bulbs energy efficient. It not only saves money, but time and you do not replace them often, there is less waste and less need bulbs!

4. One thing that is better than the new bulbs and that light. If the lights, open the color and catch some rays! Natural sunlight helps SAD and vitamin D!

5. Recycle your plastic bottles and glass and aluminum cans. We have heard this for years, so do it! Every little bit counts.

6. Get a purification system, water filtration, or simply a container with a filter like a Britta and stop using these bottles plastic water!

7. Buy a timer and set it next to each shower in your home. Take 4 minutes shower. One minute for shampoo, soap, rinse and conditioner. Shaving with soap and water between rinsing. This is huge for help with water, especially if you have more than one child with showers. Better yet, take showers with more than one person at a time and still maintain a few minutes! Make a game!

8. Turn off water while brushing teeth and washing hands during the. After a quick rinse first, turn the water off any foam and even a thorough rinsing to complete. For very dirty hands, use a washcloth to remove dirt, or running water!

9. Recycle toilet paper and a towel. Better yet, if your children in preschool or elementary school, except on the roles and give them to school. Children can still be great art or science projects from paper towels and toilet paper rolls!

10. Repair leaky faucets as soon as it starts leaking. Do not procrastinate about these things. It is not only cost money, but how waste more water than you think.

11. Turn your household cleaning products, towels, soap and hand soap in the environment Ones. The chemicals in the bleach and harsh chemicals are not only bad for the earth, are bad for you! Thinking cancer and fertility problems, not so much fun.

12. Each time you visit the store to stock supplies for home or office, look for recycled products and green. This way, you know that you at least try to be green!

13. Organic is the way to go. Buying from local farmers and when you can buy most, if not all of your organic produce department. Again, this benefits not only the earth, but your body does not need all those pesticides and chemicals, cancer and infertility, bah!

14. Even shampoos and cosmetics companies are beginning to go green. And these products are really good! Try them!

15. Be open to trying new things that are green. Plus you′re open, the sooner you will realize that this whole green movement is quite funny and really make you feel that you are responsible! What could feel better than that?
